WHAT IS A SPELEOLOGICAL DISCOVERY?
Would you like to feel like Indiana Jones or the Tomb Rider? Here is your chance to participate to a unique type of experience. With some friends of the Romanian speleological society, we offer you the opportunity to explore a cave. If you love nature and you are curious about underground, we’d love to share our passions with you!
WHAT IS THE DURATION OF A TRIP?
Typically, we would meet at 7h00 in the morning at the meeting point in the centre of the city. The cave exploration length is 3-5 hours, depending on the group abilities and motivation to go further. Then we should be back in Bucharest by 19h00 at end of the day.
WHERE IS THE ADVENTURE HAPPENING ?
We are inviting you in a hidden cave. It is located in the Carpathian Mountains (close to Bucharest). It is with limited access to public and only we can provide.
WHAT IS THE STRUCTURE OF THE TRIP?
We offer an adventure trip which combines a light sport activity with nature discovery.
- Guests will be picked up in a central place of Bucharest and driven to the adventure start-point.
- We will be guided by experienced speleologists who will provide us the right training and gear (check more info a little further down the text).
- While visiting the galleries our guides will also tell us the history of the cave.
The cave temperature will be around 10 degrees Celsius, please dress accordingly.
We schedule our trips on week-end days, but it is also possible to book on week-days if enough people to form a group:
WHAT DOES THE PRORIDER PROVIDES FOR THE TRIP?
- Transportation: Round trip from Bucharest (minibus);
- Equipment: suits, helmets, headlamps, rubber boots;
- Professional guide for the whole trip;
- Drinking water.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE A TRIP?
You should have a good mobility and a normal physical resistance.
Knowing this type of adventure is quiet and peaceful type of trip, you need to know just a little bit of English, French, Bulgarian or Romanian for the initial training and guiding… all the rest depends on you!
HOW TO PREPARE YOURSELF FOR THE ADVENTURE?
You should be clothed properly for the season and the weather conditions. Before and after the trip – you should be warm enough and comfortable for travel. For the adventure, you should have:
- Thermal underwear;
- Snacks;
- Towel;
- Dry-cloths for the return trip.
WHO CAN ATTEND THE ADVENTURE?
The adventure is recommended to adults (or children accompanied by their parents) capable of a medium physical exercise. Bear in mind we will go underground, in tight places, having only our torches for light so it is important not to suffer from Claustrophobia and/or Nyctophobia.
